Thank you, Mr. SKILLZ for introducing my suburban high school students to your Hip Hop Game of Skillz. It was a wonderful experience for all students, no matter what their cultural background, musical preferences or pre-conceived notions might be. Those who admitted up front that they did not care for hip hop music developed a new appreciation of the genre through learning about the legitimate cultural roots of the movement and how it has evolved logically throughout American history to become the voice of today's urban youth. Even the die-hard hip hop fans gained a better understanding of this type of expression, and why it speaks to them and (others whose voices long to be heard) with such power. With sincere respect, I again thank you for this eye-opening experience.
